Embodiment techniques – more than talking!

SBT is an innovative therapeutical intervention drawing from neuroscience that utililizes the client’s emotions as resources and navigational tools to help them cope with problems. The philosophy of the SBT approach is that the client’s body and yours sends important and therapeutically relevant signals. Be in synchronization with your client! In this workshop you will develop a self-experience of embodiment techniques. These techniques include imitation and synchrony to help you get a better understanding of yourself, and then later to  fully understand the impact of the SBT method with your clients.
Workshop content:

1. From the neurobiological perspective- acting, perceiving and emotions are closely linked. Our body shows this link in a specific way. To perform particular body postures and movements helps to trigger and deepen specific emotions. By attending this workshop you will gain double profit by: a) being  more effective as a therapist with clients who freeze, block and numb, overly ruminate on unhelpful thoughts, can not find words or where words are not enough, and b) you will feel the vitalizing power of your own emotions, leading to you break  out of problematic interactions with others and to make more value orientated daily life changes.
2. This compact workshop will give you an overview of the most important interventions and techniques of SBT. We show you how to develop your personal Emotional Field, your emotional survival strategy and your reaction chain, as a starting point to a new way of acting in your life.
3. You learn how to use embodiment techniques to better regulate your own emotions which will further enhance the therapeutical alliance with your clients.
4. This workshop will give you the opportunity to experience a new way of working with your own body. You will be taking the firsts important step to becoming an embodied therapist.
